Last year, Priyanka Chopra was seen in two films – Salaam-e-Ishq and Big Brother, both of which were turkeys at the box-office. However, the actress will be one of the busiest stars in this year. In 2008, the actress will feature in as many as half dozen films. ‘I have acted in about 20 films in my four-year-old cinema career so far and 2008 is going to be the busiest,” Priyanka said. She said the new releases coming out in the next one year include: ‘God Tussi great Ho’ with Salman Khan and Drona with Abhishek Bachchan, Madhur Bhandarkar’s Fashion, another film called Chamki Chameli and a yet-to-be-named film with John Abraham as co-star. Priyanka said there were some calls from the Hollywood to act in English films, but she first preferred to ‘master’ acting in Indian films.
Kangana Ranaut wants her favourite designer Rick Roy to design her costumes in Madhur Bhandarkar’s film Fashion despite the fact that the movie has a reputed designer, Narendra Kumar, who is doing the overall styling of the actors in the film – from their clothes to hair, accessories, make-up and look. Kangana says she has worked with Rick for many years and he knows well her needs and fashion tastes. That is why, she says, she recommended Rick’s name for ‘Fashion’. The folks at UTV, the film’s production house, were initially disagreed by Kangana’s demand to have her own designer, but finally they let the actress have her way. While such demands by actresses almost tantamount to meddling in the making of the film, the ladies insist it is all for the betterment of the movie.
Madhur Bhandarker’s film Fashion is about the model’s life, and it is about the ups and downs of model’s lifestyle and Madhur tells us that there are also a lot of emotional angles to this movie. Most of the people think that this movie will show the ‘true face’ of the fashion world but Madhur Bhandarker clears that his movies are just the mirror of society but he don’t get judgmental. His movies are not costing Rs.250 crore but actually, all his films put together will not cost that much. He is a experimental filmmaker and not the commercial one.
Raj Babbar is coming back to the film industry after a long time, the reason was the delay was that he had vowed that he would not sign any film till he clears the air in Uttar Pardesh. Raj says that he promised him self that he would not sign in any films until things didn’t get better in UP. The last film that Raj acted in was Madhur Bhandarkar’s Corporate. The next film Raj will appear in will be Himesh Reshammiya’s Aap Ka Suroor.
