Drona

Saturday, January 5th, 2008

Of late, Priyanka Chopra is accepting only action pack roles and wont sing Hindi songs around trees anymore. After Don its Drona which will show her in an action pack role. She will not be doing the powerful action pack stunts in Drona as she did in Don but yes we will definitely see her in action again. It is heard that Priyanka has hurt herself on the sets of Drona, she was badly injured while doing a risky scene. She was learning a new Sikh fighting art called Gagta when she injured herself. She will be playing the role of Abhishek’s bodyguard in the movie. It is a Goldie Behl movie and Priyanka will be doing some cool action stunts. The actress is always comfortable doing action roles and she was much comfortable at the sets of Drona too.Priyanka was attempting a somersault when she realized that she had hurt her rib cage and apparently had torn her abs. she has been advised by her doctor to take complete bed rest but she can’t afford to miss her shooting as she has to shoot for a dance song for Rajiv Surti. Well that’s all a part of celebrity life.

The moon as a song theme

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

There are a lot of songs which have the moon as a symbol of love and is many times related in songs with the lover’s passion for each other. There is one Ghazal by Jagjeet Singh in which he uses the moon to describe the beauty of his beloved. The song goes like this, “Kal Chodhvin Ki Raat Thi…”. In this song he says the whole of the comparison in a very lucid style and the music is so tuned and focused that one sees the moon to be a true descriptions of one’s loved one. He compares the face of the moon with the face of the lover.

The really classic evergreen Ghazal

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

The Ghazals can be so classic and ever loved by the people. Earlier I did not believe in this fact but when I listened to this particular Ghazal I became a real fan of it and always like to listen to it again and again on my stereo player. The disc having this song is always with me even in my car and I listen to it as and when I feel like. The Ghazal is “Who Kagaz Ki Kashti, Who Barish Ka Paani”. I have listened to it hundreds of times .The song is a real treat for the ears and the mind. This song or Ghazal will never go old.

The song of the evening

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

I like a song by Jagjeet Singh in which he describes the coming of the evening and the music is very much suited to the theme of the song. The song goes like this “Shaam Hone Ko Hai Laal Sooraj Samunder Mein Khone Ko Hai…”. The song is a kind of thanks giving to the nature and describes the ending of another good day for everyone and a hope for having another good day tomorrow. In the song there is a lot of talk about the birds going back to their nests after a long day’s work and has a sound effect of bird voices.

The songs of drinking

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

There are many songs on drinking of the wine and mostly the drinking is praised in the songs. There is a song by Jagjeet Singh on drinking in which he describes himself to be in a drunken state. Of course he might not be the writer of all of his songs but he has given his voice to large number of songs and Ghazals and made them to be the greatest songs ever. In this particular song he says “Main Nashe Mein Hoon…”. The song is having the music perfectly synchronized with the drunken state of mind.

The song deeply sad and full of emotions

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

The song according to me which is the saddest in its theme and appeal is the song “Chithi Na Koi Sandesh, Jane Who Kaun Sa Desh Jahan Tum Chale Gaye”. This song is so touching that it can make a person go in tears. The song is a Ghazal which has been done par excellence. It has a real emotion awaking music. One cannot help being emotional while listening to this song. The song is a must have in the collection of those who love the sad songs and enjoy the real pleasure of listening the sad.

THE SONGS OF A BROKEN HEART

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

There are a lot of songs for the broken hearts and one of these that I like most is a song By Jagjeet Singh which directly has a wording showing a torn apart heart of a person in love. The words are “Chaak Jigar Ke See Lete Hain…”. The song has a straight forward theme of a broken heart and shows the agony of such a person. The music does not try to be too sad still it has an appeal of a nice melody that is always as fresh as ever from the very first when I listened to it.

The extreme sadness depicted through the music

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

There is one Ghazal sung by Jagjeet Singh in which his mood is depicted to be very sad and hopeless and does not expect anything good to happen or anyone coming to him or his place. It says “Kaun Aaega Yahan , Koi Na Aaya Hoga…, Mera Darwaza Havaon Ne Hilaya Hoga…”What I liked in this song is the symbolism of a butterfly sitting on a flower and the storms that can uproot the big trees cannot throw the butterfly down from the flower, symbolizing the relation between the bad times and the struggle of a man to overcome them.

The sad songs are an emotional appeal

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

There are a lot of sad songs having an appeal for me and ai always like the songs which have a kind of strong emotional bent of thought. These songs are meant to soothe the spirits and are a good way to relax. I like the songs sung by Jagjeet Singh the Ghazal Maestro of India. His songs are to me a great relief from the daily life tensions. When I feel sad and tensed I go in for a session of song hearing from his albums.

The song of hope for the coming of the lover

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

There is one song by Jagjeet Singh in which the lover hopes that his beloved might come when he is in a good ambience and wante her to be with him. The words are “Kabhi Yun Bhi To Ho…” meaning if it so happens. In this song he is sitting at some good places and feels lonely in the crowd and says that if it so happens that his loves comes to se him in that environment so that his day is good. “Kabhi Yun Bhi To Ho…., Poore Chaand Ki Raat Ho Aur Tum Aao… So I like this kind of imaginative works showing a ray of hope.
