India Fashion Now and Then

Monday, October 22nd, 2007

A few years ago in India, fashion was something, which was limited to Fashion shows. What Indian Designers used to make was something that can’t be worn by masses. Heavy use of zari, zardozi and crystals, which used to be appreciated only at fashion shows. But now it seems our designers have realized that to get into global market they need to deliver something more. As a result India’s heritage has moved to smart use of Indian fabrics into contemporary clothing. Today Indian designs can be seen all over the fashion weeks as well as reputed fashion stores all over the world. Fashion is really changing its meaning now….

Old is Gold

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

Everybody appreciate with this matter that old thing like Gold because old things always shine like gold. Peoples give priority to old things more than new things because new thing made from old thing. Old things are the base to prepare new things, our elders’ presents a line about old is gold, “New things are diamonds, old things are gold but to hold a diamond you need a base of gold.”

Old things amuse us (like old songs, old movies). So always believe in old is gold. If we give priority to new things then we will be deprive from gold from old.

A Poor Family

Saturday, October 20th, 2007

A poor family of man his wife and a girl of about ten years were sitting by the road, all crying; the girl from painfully swollen ear and the parents from their helplessness to help her as they had no money to take her to a doctor The man was begging the onlookers to help and few people were giving them money which was however less than what the doctor could demand. My wife happened to pass by and was accosted by the father for help. When she saw the condition of the ear of the girl., she decided to take her to a nearby ENT doctor mentally calculating that RS 150 as doctor’s fee and another 150 for medicine would cost her Rs 300.But the agony of the girl was too much to bear. She took the girl to the doctor and told him about the poor family and their difficulty to pay his fee. Doctor attended to the girl and then refused to accept his fee.” If you can come to her help why cant I” Then she took her to the chemist and he too refused to charge money for the medicine. And along with medicine also gave a pack of biscuits to the girl. The family was thankful and happy fo the help but happier was my wife for having got a chance to help. Moral of the story is that you just volunteer to help some body in distress and see how good people come rushing to chip in.

20-20 World Cup

Friday, October 19th, 2007

India has won the 20-20-world cup. Skill and lot of luck has gone into this match. How many times the fortunes of the competing team varied this way or that way. The shot Mishbah played giving a catch to sreesanth was entirely unnecessary. Indian boys played it and played it well and deserved the win. When Ravi Shastri called the Pakistani captain during the award ceremony and sympathized with him for coming so close to a win and all that notice what the captain of Pakistan said. He said, ” first of all I would like to thank the entire Muslim world for the whole hearted support to the Pakistani team” This is the mentality of you and us inculcated in their mind right from their birth. He divided the supports of both the teams into Muslims and non-Muslims. How ridiculous!

Cricket Issues

Friday, October 19th, 2007

Shoaib remark raises a stink”, says the Hindustan times. After mentioning that Shoaib thanked the Muslims of Pakistan sorry, no thanks to Sikhs and Hindus of Pakistan and Muslims all over the world, the reporter apologetically says that it was probably bad English and not bad intentions. If you go through what Shoaib said you would find that all his verbs and nouns and adjectives were right. The reporter further says that he is a sensible cricketer. Well who is saying that he is not? The stink is in the upbringing of Muslims who think that they are apart and some way superior to others (read infidels). Years ago Imran Khan had raised a bigger stink when coming to India for playing cricket had said at Lahore air port that Muslims have been victorious when they started from Lahore to conquer India and impregnate their women.

Afgan Sikhs

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

Life is hellish for afghan Sikhs, says The Tribune of today. They are finding it difficult to cremate their dead due to the opposition of the Muslim community of Afghanistan. They are there fore forced to cremate their dead in the compound of the local Gurudwara. This cruelty on the Sikh and Hindu population despite the fact that India is one of the biggest aid givers to that country of fanatics speaks volumes for Islamic “tolerance”. What has happened to the population of Hindus and Sikhs living in Pakistan and ungrateful Bangladesh? It has dwindled from around 25% to about 3% in sixty years This is an indication of what is going to happen to the Kaafirs of countries where Muslims are to going to become a majority. See the reaction of our ambassador Rakesh Sood. He, instead of making some sympathetic noises (yes1Noises) says that Govt. of India has nothing to do with these people He wont mind a few million Bangladeshi coming and settling in India and become voters but a few thousand people living miserable lives cannot expect any help from country of their origin.

At the Dentist

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

I am sitting in the dentist office for getting an old tooth repaired. Suddenly a screaming is heard in the corridor. An old man carrying a screaming child of 10 years enters the clinic. He wants to go straight to the doctor but the receptionist prevents him. The man pleads that the child needs immediate attention due to considerable pain. The receptionist notes down the name of the child and asks for RS. One hundred as consultancy fee the poor man stares in disbelief at the receptionist. But I have got only RS. 50 with me, says the man…”then go somewhere else”, tells the receptionist. The poor man picked up the child and went down the stairs. I sat there for a few minutes waiting for my turn and then got up and asked the receptionist for refund and walked out to find another doctor.

Langer at Gurudwara

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

We were having langer at the gurudwara on the occasion of birth day of Guru Nanak. It was a bright sunny day. Men, women and children dressed in their very best were thronging the Gurudwara. The melody of the “kirtan” was filling the air. Every thing was at peace with every thing. There were long lines of men and women before the langer hall waiting for their turn Devotees who had finished eating were coming out and throwing the left over’s in a drum kept for the purpose in a corner. Suddenly a man wearing tatters appeared from nowhere and started gathering the left over’s in a piece of cloth. He was collecting it and furiously eating it also. Before anybody could react, and stop him from eating the refuse he had filled up his cloth and run away. It saddened me no end. When will India shine for the poor man?
