Initially Aamir Khan had decided to cast another actor to do this role but later he decided to move on with the role himself. The child artist Darsheel Safary plays the character of a dyslexic child. Darsheel as Ishaan Awasthi is commendable. When Ishaan’s family, friends and teacher can not understand his problem and look at him as a stubborn and problematic kid, his family sends him to a boarding school, where he encounters more difficult to cope up with life. He then meets a new teacher, Nikumbh Sir played by Aamir Khan, who not only understands his problem but decides to help him too. Tisca Chopra plays the role of Ishaan’s mother who is ripped apart between her husband and child, has a brilliant work to display. Hats off to Aamir!
