Will I or will I not!

Filed under: General — Desibaba @ 12:51 am

It is a dilemma. It could be yes or no .May be or may not be. All of us face situations when uncertainty surrounds us and we are not sure if what is happening is actually right. World war three may happen or may not. Why do we get into a dilemma? Is it because we are scared of the uncertain or excited about the brighter side? As I tread the path of success, overcoming the day-to-day challenges, I know that I have promises to keep and many more to make. But uncertainty always surrounds my thoughts. I want to overcome my fears but do not know will I or will I not. Uncertainty is inevitable!

Parks

Filed under: General — Desibaba @ 10:49 pm

Where I stay we have about 5 parks all over. They are neatly and beautifully maintained. People go there for yoga, exercise, jogging & children go for playing. We even have parties organized there in parks. Especially in winters its fun to have a party in the park. With barbeque & drinks served. It’s chilly there with soft music going on. With the arrangement of buffet & snacks. It’s nice to have a party in open space rather than having it in the house. Every one enjoys it specially children enjoy it more than elders. As they can run around and play. But it’s nice during the winters only not in summers.

Clothes

I was very small when I started designing my own clothes. I was always very fascinated with colours & designing. I was hardly 7 yrs when I started choosing my dresses by my own self. It was my father who inspired me always motivated me for being so confident. I remember he always wanted me to wear, which was pure cotton, and very comfortable for me as a child…where as in my mom always wanted me to wear the trendy clothes with frills around designer clothes. Lacy frocks which I was never comfortable in. But now when I think of it I feel that was the right time to wear all this.

Anecdotes from the life of Maharaja Ranjit Singh

Filed under: General — Desibaba @ 12:02 am

Maharaja Ranjit Singh was enamoured of a Muslim dancing girl named Moran She used to visit the mahal of the Maharaja whenever she was summoned for singing and dancing. She used to come from her village after crossing a small rivulet on her way. Once while she was crossing the stream her anklet fell off and was washed away. She told about it to the Maharaja and said that she will not come again if he does not get a bridge constructed on the stream. The lovelorn Maharaja obliged and got a bridge constructed the bridge is still there on the indo Pakistan border and it is called Pul Kanjri.

Coffee or Tea?

Filed under: General — Desibaba @ 11:11 pm

“What would you like to have Tea or Coffee”. Coffee, said dad.”why do you drink so much coffee daddy?” asked my elder brother. You should have tea instead as it is good for health. Please stop this discussion and let dad enjoy his coffee, I intervened. Tea may be better than coffee in some aspects but if you are not enjoying either of them over a good conversation it will certainly loose its charm. It is always said that good things happen over a cup of tea or coffee. I have always cherished tea or coffee meets when all my friends get together and chat endlessly over a cup of hot tea or coffee.

Visit

Filed under: General — Desibaba @ 8:50 pm

My sister was to come from Seattle the next week. We all were looking forward to her visit, as she was to bring with her Akanksha, her three-year-old daughter. We were all aware that Akanksha was very witty and smart for her age. She was very intelligent too. We did not have the slightest of doubts when we met her. In a span of two days she made every one in the family runs after her for one mischief or the other. She was very naughty and at the same time very innocent. One day she saw some piglets outside the house. The piglets were dirty and had small round dirt marks on them. I could not stop laughing when Akanksha said, Look aunt these are Dalmatian Pigs!!

The sound of silence

Filed under: General — Desibaba @ 1:50 pm

One day my colleague and me were sitting in a silent secluded room doing some quality thinking. We needed a silent place to do that kind of thinking. That place was so silent that you could even hear a pin drop. I got restless and could not churn out creativity I was supposed to. I looked at my colleague to see if he was able to. And the same was the case at his end. We tried to figure out the reason for this restlessness. Actually we were used to the inside premises of the factory we worked in and it was full of constant noise. This may be one of the reasons why we could not concentrate in the sound of silence.

Colours

Colours are full of life. Colours make lot of difference in day-to-day life. As in we Hindus. Believe everyday has a colour to be worn…Monday is for whites, light pink, off whites, creams. Tuesday is for all shades of red and orange…Wednesday is for all shades of green. Thursday is for all shades of yellow. Friday is for whites. Saturday is for black, all shades of blues, purple, gray. Sunday is again for reds..

It’s an experience that using these colour according to days make lot of difference in your behavior gives confidence…An they really work over oneself. I have tired it myself. One must try it and experience the difference.

Horror movie

Filed under: Movies — Desibaba @ 8:08 pm

I was looking into the newspaper in the TV programmes columns’ saw the horror movie was coming up in the midnight. I made up my mind to view it. It was named the thirteenth ghost. It was 12pm and the movie-started .I was very engrossed in it, the plot of the movie was very good and the ghosts looked very real. The best part is that I was scared and was afraid to move around, so much so that I did not get up to go to the bathroom! I was compelled to look outside the window and saw the leaves of the trees moving with the flow of the wind. I saw some arbitrary figures moving and shut my eyes, I started hearing wired noises……..all this I think were the consequences of watching a horror movie!
